Aurubis Olen

Jimmy has been working at Aurubis Olen since 2014. He started as a production operator and was promoted in 2024 to his current position as a laboratory technician in the electrolysis department. From the lab, he supports the production process by conducting chemical analyses that are used directly to adjust the process. The combination of independence, precision, and responsibility makes him feel right at home in his job and allows him to approach each day with confidence.

Vera has been working as a Draftsperson/Archivist at Aurubis Olen since February 2025. She converts complex installations and processes into clear technical drawings that are essential for safe and efficient operations.

Jef has now been working as a Commercial Operations Purchase at Aurubis Olen for two years and is in daily contact with customers and suppliers worldwide. He is involved in the purchasing of copper scrap, the sale of intermediates, and intercompany transactions.

Sinds 2021 is Stijn garagist bij Aurubis Olen. Wat begon als een toevallige kennismaking groeide al snel uit tot een job waarin geen enkele dag hetzelfde is. Van onderhoudswerken in de garage tot het oplossen van storingen ter plaatse: Stijn staat steeds klaar om machines en voertuigen in perfecte staat te houden. Op 1 mei zet hij een volgende stap in zijn loopbaan en start hij als werkvoorbereider in de garage. De combinatie van afwisselend werk, techniek en een hechte teamsfeer maakt Aurubis Olen de perfecte werkplek voor Stijn.

Sinds 3 juni 2024 maakt Mathijs deel uit van het Contimelt team bij Aurubis Olen. Na jaren als zelfstandige lasser koos hij bewust voor meer stabiliteit en toekomstperspectief. Vandaag werkt hij als tweede operator op de afdeling Contimelt. In een productieomgeving waar gesmolten koper dag en nacht stroomt, vindt Mathijs vooral voldoening in het teamwork, de afwisseling en de doorgroeikansen die hem elke dag motiveren.

Marc Van den Eynde and Jef Lenaerts worked for many years at Aurubis Olen and in 2024 were assigned to Aurubis Richmond, our new secondary smelter in the United States. They bring their knowledge of furnaces and engineering, actively contribute to production processes, and develop themselves professionally within an international Aurubis context.

Sebastiaan Ezendam joined the Aurubis Olen team in 2021. What started as a position at the rolling mill grew in 2024 into the role of Assistant Shift Supervisor in the Contirod department. With safety as his top priority, a strong commitment to his team, and a hands-on mentality, Sebastiaan feels completely at home on the Aurubis Olen work floor.

Sander Dieltjens works as a DCS coordinator at Aurubis Olen. He has been with the company since 2020 and took on the role of DCS coordinator in the electrolysis department in 2024. From the control room and on the production floor, he monitors safety and the entire electrolysis process. The combination of responsibility, variety, and teamwork makes Sander feel completely at home in this position.

Almost twenty years ago, Karel Docker began his career at Aurubis in Olen. Today, he is HSE & Sustainability Director, leading our teams responsible for safety, health, environment, and sustainability at the Belgian Aurubis sites in Beerse and Olen.

Kathleen works as HR Business Partner Recruiting at Aurubis Olen and is responsible for recruitment, selection, and onboarding of new colleagues. She also supports various HR projects and improvement processes within HR development. Thanks to her engineering background and a solid understanding of our processes, she is able to make the perfect match between candidate and position.

Maak kennis met Rob, elektromechanieker bij Aurubis Olen! Samen met zijn collega’s zorgt hij er mee voor dat de machines blijven draaien en lost hij storingen op in onze productieafdeling Contimelt.

Meet Bjorn! He started his career in 2010 as an operator in our Electrolysis department and has recently been promoted to Supervisor in our new production department BOB.

Koen werkt deze maand twee jaar bij Aurubis Olen als Operator PVZ! Samen met zijn collega’s staat hij in voor de personeelsvoorzieningen op ons bedrijf.

Meet Guy! In 2019, he joined Aurubis Olen as a Deputy Prevention Advisor Health. With his background in occupational medicine, he plays a key role in promoting the (mental) health, ergonomics, and safety of his colleagues.

Ontmoet Jurgen! In 2021 maakte hij de overstap naar Aurubis Olen. Als CNC draaier/frezer zorgt hij voor het maken van machine-onderdelen voor de productieafdelingen.

Meet Siebe! This academic year, he is completing an internship at Aurubis Olen as an Intern Process Technologist in Bars & Profiles.

Maak kennis met Jan! Na 20 jaar in de bouw maakte hij de overstap naar Aurubis Olen als Operator Sampling. Nu staat hij in voor het nauwkeurig nemen en analyseren van stalen.

Meet Ivo! As Procurement Coordinator at Aurubis Olen, he plays a crucial role in the procurement process.

Dirk is in charge of mechanical maintenance in our electrolysis (FSD) department.

Meet Melissa! As a PSP Assistant at Aurubis Olen, she plays a crucial role in connecting customer inquiries with our products.

Meet our colleague Joyce from IT! She celebrated her first work anniversary as an Application Engineer at Aurubis Olen in May 2023.

Laurens werkt sinds 2019 als operator bij interne logistiek: een job die hem naar eigen zeggen “op het lijf geschreven is”.

Thijs werkt sinds 2011 op onze Contirod productieafdeling. Na enkele jaren als productieoperator ging hij aan de slag binnen de onderhoudsafdeling.

Laurens will be working for our IT department for 8 years next month, first as an external consultant and then as a permanent Aurubis Olen employee.

Theo has been working at Aurubis Olen since 2013. After twenty years in construction, he started as a production operator in our Contirod department.

Kevin has been working as a Purchaser at Aurubis Olen since January 2019. He cycles 60 kilometres to and from work every day.
