The Copper and Nickel Mark
Aurubis AG has officially started the process for certification according to the sustainability seal 'The Copper Mark' and 'The Nickel Mark' for Aurubis Olen. The Copper Mark is a leading quality assurance system to promote responsible production practices in the metallic raw materials industry and covers environmental, social and governance (ESG) criteria. The Nickel Mark focuses on nickel and its responsible production.
As part of this commitment, Aurubis Olen will undergo an external, independent assessment from June 2 - June 4, 2026, to ensure that its operations meet the standards of The Copper Mark and The Nickel Mark. The site will be assessed in the following areas:
- Environmental protection and sustainable use of resources
- Responsible sourcing of raw materials
- Human rights and labor rights
- Health and safety
- Community engagement and stakeholder involvement
- Business integrity and governance
