“Dr. Toralf Haag, Tim Kurth, and Steffen Hoffmann have gotten Aurubis back on track in a short amount of time: Thanks to their dependable work, the company has regained a great deal of trust. They continue to realize the current strategic agenda while steadfastly focusing on safety and company performance in everything they do. On behalf of the entire Supervisory Board, I look forward to our ongoing collaboration,” Aurubis AG Supervisory Board Chairman Prof. Dr. Fritz Vahrenholt remarked.
At the same time, the Supervisory Board and Inge Hofkens, COO Multimetal Recycling, reached a mutual and amicable agreement for her departure from the Aurubis AG Executive Board at the end of September 2026.
“With Inge Hofkens’ departure, a valued leader is leaving the Aurubis Executive Board. She advanced the recycling business with real passion. We extend our heartfelt gratitude for her commitment and wish her all the best for the future, both personally and professionally,” Prof. Fritz Vahrenholt said.
Verena von Weiss, currently Plant Manager of Aurubis’ largest recycling site in Lünen, will also be appointed Executive Vice President for the recycling business in Europe and the global recycling strategy.

Change in the Supervisory Board: Prof. Markus Kramer to become the new Supervisory Board Chairman
The Supervisory Board intends to elect Prof. Markus Kramer as Supervisory Board Chairman following the regular Annual General Meeting in February 2027. The Nomination Committee of the Supervisory Board has unanimously recommended him for the post. As Chairman he would succeed Prof. Fritz Vahrenholt, whose term of office will end as scheduled with the conclusion of the coming Annual General Meeting and who cannot be re-elected due to the age limit.
“Aurubis has developed successfully over the past several years and now has a strong strategic position in attractive growth markets. With Prof. Markus Kramer, we are able to appoint an established industry expert as the designated successor to the Supervisory Board chairmanship,” Prof. Fritz Vahrenholt said. “Prof. Markus Kramer is familiar with Aurubis from different perspectives. As a Supervisory Board member for many years, Chairman of the Personnel and Compensation Committee, and through his temporary operational responsibility on the Executive Board, he guided the company during a crucial phase.”
“I am very pleased about my nomination as Supervisory Board Chairman,” Prof. Markus Kramer said. “On behalf of the entire Supervisory Board, I would like to thank Prof. Fritz Vahrenholt for his extraordinary dedication over nearly three decades in the Aurubis Supervisory Board, and as its Chairman during the past eight years. He has significantly shaped the Supervisory Board’s work and left a lasting mark on key decisions for the company’s strategic development.”
Prof. Christina Reuter and Philipp Möller will complete the Supervisory Board
Subject to the agreement of the shareholders at the Annual General Meeting, Prof. Christina Reuter and Philipp Möller shall be appointed to the Supervisory Board as new shareholder representatives.
Prof. Christina Reuter combines scientific and technical excellence with extensive industry experience. She is Professor for Sustainable Production Systems at the Technical University of Munich as well as Director of the Institute for Machine Tools and Industrial Management. She previously held various management positions at Airbus Defence and Space, where she was responsible for topics including digitalization, production and the division-wide site strategy. She was also a member of the KION Group AG Supervisory Board from 2016 to 2025, where she contributed her expertise in digital transformation, strategy and strengthening competitiveness in particular.
Philipp Möller is Managing Partner of Möller & Förster GmbH & Co. KG in Hamburg. The entrepreneur has extensive experience in managing medium-sized companies and in working on supervisory boards and advisory bodies. He was a member of the Deutsche Beteiligungs AG Supervisory Board from 2010 to 2022, most recently in the role of Deputy Chairman, and was part of its Executive and Nomination Committee. He contributes proven expertise in the areas of corporate management, strategy and governance due to his international business education and many years of entrepreneurship.
The Supervisory Board also recommended Kathrin Dahnke, Gunnar Groebler, and Dr. Stephan Krümmer for another term of office. With their extensive finance, industry and corporate knowledge, and their experience with Supervisory Board work, they stand for expertise, continuity and reliable strategic guidance in Aurubis’ ongoing advancement.
With the new Supervisory Board nominees, Aurubis is pursuing the goal of further strengthening support for the company in an increasingly dynamic market landscape. The candidates combine entrepreneurial experience, technological know-how, and transformation and governance expertise and will help guide the company on its successful course over the long term.
Prof. Fritz Vahrenholt commented: “Both candidates ideally complement the Supervisory Board’s existing skills profile. They will provide important momentum for Aurubis’ ongoing development with their different professional backgrounds, their international experience, and their strategic understanding.”
In addition to Prof. Fritz Vahrenholt’s term of office, Dr. Sandra Reich’s term of office will also end as scheduled with the Annual General Meeting 2027. “We would like to thank Dr. Sandra Reich for her many years of valuable commitment on the Supervisory Board. With her distinct expertise in sustainable finance, the capital market, and corporate governance, she enriched the Supervisory Board’s work and made meaningful contributions to the company’s sustainable development,” Prof. Fritz Vahrenholt stated.
