Our process
We rely on your participation for our due diligence. While we can collect a lot of information independently, we are legally obliged to request some information directly from you. For this, we need your active cooperation.

Industry standards and regulations guiding the Aurubis due diligence process
Aurubis due diligence is based on internationally recognized standards and legal requirements to ensure responsible sourcing and compliance. Our process incorporates (list not comprehensive):
The LME Responsible Sourcing Requirements ensure that LME-listed brands on the London Metal Exchange meet their responsible sourcing requirements including the mandatory implementation of OECD Due Diligence Guidance for Responsible Supply Chains of Minerals from Conflict-Affected and High-Risk Areas and the maintenance of ISO 14001 environmental management system certification (or equivalent) and ISO 45001 occupational health and safety management system certification (or equivalent) standards.
The Copper Mark is an assurance framework for responsible copper, nickel, zinc and molybdenum production. Production sites (mines, smelters and refiners and semis fabricators) are assessed by independent, approved third-party assessors against the Copper Mark Criteria for Responsible Production. These criteria use the Risk Readiness Assessment (RRA) Criteria Guide, which was jointly developed with the Responsible Minerals Initiative (RMI). It covers 33 issue areas across environmental, social and governance topics (e.g., compliance, supply chain due diligence/responsible sourcing, labor, environment and occupational health & safety).
As part of our supply chain due diligence, we align our approach with the expectations set out in Criterion 10 (Responsible Sourcing / Supply Chain Due Diligence) of the Copper Mark Criteria and with the requirements of the Joint Due Diligence Standard for Copper, Lead, Nickel and Zinc.
Metal sourced by the LBMA Good Delivery (GDL) Refiners is subject to an independent third party assurance process to establish that it is responsibly sourced. The LBMA Responsible Sourcing Programme follows the five-step due diligence framework set out in the OECD Guidance and requires GDL Refiners to demonstrate their efforts to combat money laundering, terrorist financing, and human rights abuses, and respect the environment globally.
The Responsible Minerals Assurance Process (RMAP) is an internationally recognized audit program that evaluates smelters and refiners to ensure their mineral sourcing does not contribute to conflict, human rights abuses, or environmental harm. The RMAP standards are designed to meet the requirements of the OECD Due Diligence Guidance, EU Conflict Minerals Regulation (EU 2017/821), and the U.S. Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act.
The German Supply Chain Due Diligence Act (LKSG) requires companies to ensure that human rights and environmental standards are upheld within their supply chains and own operations. Businesses must implement processes to identify, prevent and mitigate violations, and they are obligated to report on their due diligence efforts annually.
The EU Conflict Minerals Regulation (EU 2017/821) requires companies sourcing tin, tungsten, tantalum and gold (3TG) from conflict-affected and high-risk areas do not contribute to human rights abuses, armed conflicts, or environmental damage.
These frameworks guide our approach to human rights, environmental protection, and ethical business conduct across our entire supply chain.
Mutual commitment: Progress through partnership
Together with you, we aim to create responsible value creation based on accountability and continuous improvement. We encourage you to join us in strengthening human rights, sustainability and compliance. Shared commitment is a key factor in building a successful long-term partnership.
