Sustainable success in the first fiscal half-year: Aurubis achieves significantly higher result

Significantly higher refining charges for recycling materials, an increased concentrate throughput, strict cost discipline, high product demand, and a higher metal result with a strong increase in metal prices: these factors combined are the key reasons for the significantly higher operating earnings before taxes (EBT) of € 185 million that Aurubis AG generated in the first half of its current fiscal year compared to the prior-year period (€ 91 million). The only negative impact came from substantially higher energy costs due to increased electricity prices.

Cablo GmbH: EU clears Aurubis and TSR joint venture

The European Commission issued merger control clearance for the planned joint venture of Aurubis AG (Aurubis) and TSR Recycling GmbH & Co. KG (TSR). In November 2020, the two companies announced their intention to form a joint venture to unite the cable dismantling activities of Aurubis subsidiary Cablo Metall-Recycling und Handel GmbH in Fehrbellin (Cablo) and those of TSR in Gelsenkirchen with the objective of recovering copper granules and plastics.

Two weeks ago, Aurubis increased the forecast for the current fiscal year in its entirety and now expects operating EBT between € 270 million and € 330 million.
