Iron silicate stone

Slow cooling in large cast iron pots produces a high-quality, crystalline rock with edge lengths of up to 1,000 mm. The iron-silicate stone is further processed in a crushing and screening plant to commercial grain sizes and weight classes.

After shock cooling in a water jet, an amorphous granulate is formed - comparable to natural volcanic glass, e.g. obsidian.
