Aurubis and NKT have entered into a multi-year agreement for the supply of copper products across the European value chain. Under the agreement, Aurubis will supply several NKT production sites in Europe with low-carbon copper Wire ROD primarily used in high-voltage cables.
“For critical infrastructure applications such as High-Voltage cables, customers need more than a supplier — they need a partner that combines consistent high product quality with reliable delivery and a deep understanding of industrial requirements,” said Ricardo Dos Santos Sousa, Area Sales Manager Sales Copper Products at Aurubis. “This agreement underlines Aurubis’ role as a dependable partner for strategically important metals in Europe.”
For NKT, resilient supply chains and reliable access to high‑quality, low‑carbon copper play an important role in executing projects that support the energy transition. For Aurubis, the agreement underscores its role as a dependable partner for customers with demanding industrial applications and complex supply requirements. This is particularly relevant in a market environment shaped by geopolitical uncertainty, increasing resilience requirements, and the need for stable European supply chains.
“High-performance cable solutions depend on materials that meet demanding standards and are available with a high level of reliability,” said Martin Helbo Texel, Vice President of Category Management Direct Materials at NKT. “Our collaboration with Aurubis supports us in delivering to customers in an important segment of Europe’s energy infrastructure.”
