> Hanne, how did you start working at Aurubis Beerse?
I was contacted by an employment agency for the role of Customer Service Analyst at Aurubis Beerse. During my job interview, I immediately felt that this was a place where I would feel at home. The warm welcome from my future colleagues and supervisors made me want to start right away. From day one, it just clicked.
> What appeals to you most about Aurubis Beerse?
The warm atmosphere, the collegiality, and the opportunity to learn something new in a completely different sector attracted me from the start. Our metals are essential for the transition to sustainable energy, such as the construction of wind turbines and electric vehicles. Knowing that my work contributes to a climate‑neutral future gives it extra meaning.
> What does your role as a Customer Service Analyst involve?
My job is very varied and dynamic. I support the customer operations team, prepare reports, and perform checks. Together with my colleagues, I also take care of the administrative follow‑up for the sales of tin, lead, b‑grades, and anodes.
To better understand the entire process, I also visited the Quality, LeadTin, and Electrolysis departments. It really shows how everything fits together and how our work impacts other departments. That makes the job even more interesting.
> Which skills are important in your job?
Flexibility and proactivity are essential: you need to take initiative and not postpone things. Language skills - especially Dutch and English - are also crucial, as we have customers worldwide, from China to Canada. In addition, analytical insight is important; you must truly understand the data you analyze to make good decisions.
> What is the team atmosphere like?
We are a team of ten, and the atmosphere is great. There’s always room for a chat, and you can turn to each other for both work‑related and personal matters. For me, it’s important to be part of a close‑knit and supportive team where collaboration really comes first.
> How do you experience the growth opportunities?
At Aurubis Beerse, there are definitely opportunities to grow. When my supervisor was on maternity leave, I temporarily took over her responsibilities. The trust I received in doing so gave me a lot of satisfaction. It was a great opportunity to gain leadership experience and motivates me to continue developing. In the long term, I would love to grow into a team lead role.
> What makes your job so enjoyable?
The best part of my job is the recognition you receive. When customers appreciate how quickly and effectively we solve issues, it gives me enormous satisfaction. Appreciation from colleagues matters too: celebrating successes together, supporting each other, and sharing knowledge makes my job even more valuable. It feels good knowing that my work truly makes a difference - both within Aurubis and with customers worldwide.
