Aurubis operates below limit values defined in permit and applicable legislation and continues to invest in emission reduction in line with action plan

Aurubis is taking any environmental issue very seriously. We are in active dialoge with the Flanders Environment Agency and the local municipality. We are currently performing a new special measurement of certain elements in air ambient air in the vicinity of our site in Olen. According to the ambient air quality directive, assessment values are based on yearly mean values for a full calendar year. Therefore, now after nine months of initial Aurubis measuring results it is still too early to draw any reliable conclusion. Measured emissions values are far below the limit values defined in our permit as well as the applicable legislation in Flanders. Last year we further improved our routines at the site with a bundle of improvement measures. These measures are part of a dedicated action plan, which for example includes substantial investments in additional filter units. This equipment has already been installed and will be in operation with more capacity later this year.
