The visionaries of tomorrow were honored in the national competition "People of the Future": Aurubis presented the award for "Sustainability"

Bulgaria | Thursday, November 20, 2025

"People of the Future" is an initiative that recognizes the efforts and achievements of some of the most dynamic and inspiring individuals in our society—people who are shaping the future with their actions today.
The national competition is organized by BGlobal magazine, with the general partnership of Aurubis Bulgaria, and is implemented according to the methodology of the global consulting company PwC.

The final took place on the 18th of November in Sofia and brought together nominees, jury members, and guests for a dynamic and emotional evening. During the ceremony, the winners in eight categories were announced: "Science and Education," "Sustainability," "Technology and Innovation," "Sports," "Health," "Culture and Arts," "Business," and the special category "For Children." The winners in the various categories were selected by live voting by the Grand Jury, which included over a hundred representatives of business and society.

The special "Person of the Future" statuette and the diplomas of the finalists in the "Sustainability" category were presented by Velina Georgieva, Communications and Events Manager at Aurubis Bulgaria. The jury awarded the grand prize to Ivelina Nikolova, General Manager of Schneider Electric's Southern Balkans region. "It is a real honor to present this award in the Sustainability category—a category that embodies the values and long-term vision we share at Aurubis Bulgaria," said Velina Georgieva.

With a clear vision for a sustainable future, Aurubis Bulgaria integrates innovation and social responsibility into every aspect of its operations – from energy-efficient and innovative production processes to the development of renewable energy sources and support for local communities. The "Investments for Progress. Bulgaria 2027" program is an example of this, including large-scale projects to modernize the refinery, increase copper production capacity, and reduce the energy footprint, implemented in close cooperation with the company's teams and partners.

The goal of the "People of the Future" initiative is to tell stories, inspire, and show that sustainable actions today build the future for all of us.
