"Aurubis Bulgaria" invests half a million BGN in education in the Srednogorie region

The funds were donated under the company's partnership programs with the municipalities of Pirdop, Zlatitsa and Anton

"Aurubis Bulgaria continues its long-term commitment to the development of education in the Srednogorie region. The company has provided nearly half a million leva to support kindergartens and schools in the region under its partnership programs with the municipalities of Pirdop, Zlatitsa and Anton for the period 2024-2025.

In the municipality of Pirdop, projects to improve the school environment are being implemented with funding of BGN 60 000 (BGN 30 000 for each of the two years):

• New equipment for the Fine Arts classroom for the modernization of the teaching spaces will be delivered to "Savo Savov" Secondary School;
• Video surveillance system, fire alarm system, modern educational products and training for teachers at Todor Vlaikov Secondary School;
• Digitalization and qualification project - by providing laptops and raising the competences of the teaching staff in the "Peka and Carlo Chioconiani" Kindergarten.

In Anton municipality "Aurubis Bulgaria" invested over 213 000 BGN in the construction of new playgrounds. St. St. Cyril and Metodiy" now has a modern musical bell provided by the company.

In the municipality of Zlatitsa for the period 2024-2025 the company has invested over 466 000 BGN. With the funds:

• Renovations in the kindergarten "Slantse" and branch "Viara, Nadezhda, Lubov";
• Repairs of the sanitary facilities at the school "St Paisii Hilendarski". Repairs of the bathrooms and the dining hall, new fence in the school yard;
• Renovation of the educational workshops at the "Zlatitsa" High Professional School.

In the summer months, new playgrounds will be built in the town of Pirdop and in the village of Dushantsi.

The company is also actively working on a number of accompanying educational initiatives. Aurubis Bulgaria's Summer Academies, which have been held in July and August for more than 10 years, attract dozens of students and promote their interests. Schools' participation in traditional projects such as Christmas bazaars and Martenitsa and card making support self-financing school initiatives.
