Aurubis Bulgaria and UCTM opened the new academic year with a renovated Technology Center

On September 29, 2025, the new academic year was officially opened at the Faculty of Metallurgy and Materials Science of the University of Chemical Technology and Metallurgy (UCTM). Part of the event was the official presentation of the renovated Aurubis Bulgaria Technology Center.

Among the guests at the event was Assoc. Prof. Milen Kadiyski, Manager of Research and Development at Aurubis Bulgaria, who attended the ceremony together with students and lecturers.

The company continues to support the development of education in the field of metallurgy by modernizing the educational base and encouraging students' interest in the specialty. During the current academic year, interest in the specialty has grown significantly, with 100% enrollment.

On September 30, 2025, the Technology Center hosted the graduation thesis of Bachelor's degree students. The thesis was performed in a renovated learning environment with new equipment and technology provided by Aurubis Bulgaria. Ten graduates took part, including three employees of the company. All students who successfully completed their diploma theses will continue their education at the Master's degree level.

The partnership between Aurubis Bulgaria and UCTM shows that investing in education is key to the future of metallurgy, the development of the industry, and the training of the next generation of specialists.
