Aurubis Bulgaria supports Bulgaria's Excellent Students – young talents who are shaping the future of the country
Bulgaria | Monday, November 24, 2025
For the ninth consecutive year, on the occasion of the Day of National Enlighteners, the newspaper "24 Hours" and the Ministry of Education and Science are honoring students with impressive achievements in school, as well as in international competitions and Olympiads. This year, the "Bulgaria's Excellent Students" initiative featured 50 outstanding children in a specially created 3D interactive classroom in the newest immersive art space, MINA Sofia.
Minister of Education Krasimir Valchev congratulated the new class of excellent students and encouraged them to dream even more boldly, emphasizing that their achievements are exceptionally high, but their true strength lies in being a driving force for positive change in society. "Each of us can be an enlightener when we inspire other people and affirm the values of education, spirituality, and patriotism," he added.
Aurubis Bulgaria shares the values of the initiative and supports it for consecutive year. Velina Georgieva, Communications and Events Manager at the company, presented an award to Kristian Petkov from Kazanlak, bronze medalist at the 21st International Geography Olympiad. She also honored the entire team of 12 students who developed an innovative concept for producing yogurt in Space.
Velina personally congratulated: Kristian Petkov, Elitsa Pavlova, Jasmin Tsvetkova, Emma Nestorova, Elitsa Karageorgieva, Beloslava Sokolova, Elena Kirova, Irina Dencheva, Damyan Damyanov, Georgi Bishkov, Irena Shevkenova, Maria Cholakova, and Marina Ashikhmina.
"Continue to dream boldly and learn from every challenge along the way. Faith and respect for your teachers are the forces that build responsible and successful people. You already know that teamwork always pays off. At Aurubis, we believe that the future is sustainable and based on knowledge and the pursuit of development. We see this spirit of the future in you. Thank you for the inspiration!" Georgieva told the excited students.
With the support of its partners, Bulgaria's Excellent Students plans to expand its scope on the occasion of its 10th anniversary next year. The organizers are preparing new categories and regional expansion to reach even more students and support their development in the fields of science, technology, and sustainable development.
Partners in the 24 Hours campaign are Aurubis Bulgaria, the Geotechmin Group, DPM Metals, A1, and Trace.
