Job Description
Scope

Directs daily activity of Industrial Electricians to minimize equipment downtime. Provide electrical/electronic expertise to troubleshoot and upgrade all plant equipment.

Functions
  • Analyze recurring equipment problems, and recommend and implement long-term solutions to increase plant productivity and efficiency.
  • Duties include the planning, scheduling, design, supervision, implementation, commissioning, and creating/modifying documentation and drawings of electrical/electronics projects on a small/medium scale.
  • Maintain and enhance plant electrical/electronic schematics and literature to provide sufficient technical resources of information and minimize electrical/electronic breakdown time.
  • Maintain system software backups and system documentation.
  • Instruct peers on updated troubleshooting techniques and attend pertinent training programs and seminars to acquire state-of-the-art knowledge of electrical/electronic industrial systems.
  • Maintain spare parts and test equipment to ensure effective maintenance and repair of all plant electrical/electronic equipment.
  • Ensure a safe and healthy work environment by adhering to company policies. Promote a climate of positive labor relations by adhering to the labor contract.
Requirements
  • BS/BT degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Two (2) years of industrial experience, including PLC, AC/DC drives, industrial instrumentation, and motor controls experience required; Five (5) years of industrial experience preferred

Electrician

Electrician - Electronics

JOB DESCRIPTION

Minimum Requirements:

  • Participate in continuous improvement of ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 50001 programs and procedures though active participation in the near miss program
  • Handles containerizing and labeling universal wastes including batteries and lamps, as well as spent aerosol cans (HW).

Primary Function: To layout, install, test, troubleshoot, and make necessary adjustments to all electrical, electronic, instrument, and combustion control equipment using programmable controllers, and print readings. To fill out logbooks for building history of equipment and communications to other shifts and personnel.

Tools and Equipment: Oscilloscope, transistor checker, capacitor checker, electronic and electrical prints, instruction manuals, brush recorder, volt and ohm meter, potentiometer, amperage probe, meggar, conduits, threader, related hand tools, etc. use of construction tools and equipment. Uses all types of test equipment used in checking or troubleshooting all types of equipment. Computer terminals, assorted PLCs, etc.

Materials: Thyristor assembly, printed circuit boards, generators, transformers, condensers, regulators, circuit breakers, switches, AC & DC motors, cable and wire. Hand tools, electrical apparatus, national electric code, reference books, and electronic hardware.

Source of Supervision: Production Management, Crew Leader. Receives verbal and written instruction.

Direction Exercised:

May direct the activities of an assisting Electrician when used as a Crew Leader.

Working Procedure:

  • Receives service order from management; reads electronic or electrical prints and makes necessary preparations such as securing the necessary tools, equipment, and materials. Lays out work procedure.
  • Repairs, maintains, tests, and adjusts all industrial electronic and electrical equipment. Must be able to correctly use all testing equipment and instruction manuals as required.
  • Must be able to analyze, locate, and eliminate troubles in various types of electronic and electrical equipment in the plant such as x-ray gauges, automatic screw-down controls, pinhole detectors, motorized valves, relay control panels, motorized rheostats, magnetic amplifiers, electronic variable speed drives, amplidyne control systems, etc.
  • Performs all types of electronic and electrical jobs, both maintenance and construction. Lays out, installs, and places equipment in operation with the aid of proper diagrams, prints, and manuals. May be required to perform inside or outside construction work.
  • Performs preventive maintenance work and must be able to thoroughly adjust, clean, and repair all types of electronic and electrical equipment, and analyze the condition of the equipment; make suggestions and complete required reports.
  • Responsible for making judgments as to whether or not to implement a stoppage in production in order to correct a quality problem. Employee is directly responsible for product quality and in ensuring quality measures are met.

Functions

  • These employees do not have a regularly assigned job and are required to learn different jobs as per managements choice.
  • These employees usually fill in during the absence of another employee, or where no one is assigned to a particular job.
  • Depending upon work experience, may serve as Operator or Helper. May work as an Inspector, operate a slitter or other light equipment.
  • May drive heavy equipment.
  • May do heavy manual labor.
  • May be required to shovel/scrap floors and metal chips.
  • Depending upon assignment, these employees may bend, lift, throw, work in confined spaces, or climb to high heights.
  • May be assigned to landscaping work.

Incentive Analyst

Aurubis Buffalo Inc., one of the largest manufacturers of flat-rolled copper-alloy sheet and strip products in the US, is seeking a communication-oriented Incentive Analyst to join our team. Responsibilities include:

  • Calculates information from Production Records to produce valid and accurate production statistics and data for cost purposes.
  • Reads and interprets charts and graphs to compute percentage of incentive earnings from Production Records.
  • Prepares production and premium reports as required by plant and corporate management.
  • Uses calculator and CRT to calculate and input incentive, cost, and production data. Honors and answers recheck requests.
  • Has full knowledge of existing incentive schedules.
  • Responsible for interpreting complicated incentive schedules, determining whether it is off standard and follow past practices for paying incentives. Must investigate any unusual circumstances regarding Production Records.
  • Prepares any other special reports as requested by management for Industrial Engineering Studies.
  • Responsible for the interpreting, discovery, and correction of errors in premium slips and Production records. Responsible for interpreting the Incentive Manual and Union Contract regarding use of averages in absence of incentive coverage to determine the standard that applies.

Scope

  • Scheduling production to meet the customer OTIF while maximizing the efficiency of the operation.
  • Planning and managing the proper amount of inventory to keep the supply chain within the allotted

Functions

  • Maintaining schedules for production equipment that balance OTIF and machine efficiency.
  • Ensure that appropriate levels of inventory are maintained in the supply chain to meeting the customer requirements while staying within the targeted inventory levels.
  • Planning meetings with vendors and customers to discuss forecasts and delivery.
  • Planning meetings with internal departments to discuss schedules and order requirements.

Magnitude

Functional support role. Management, coordination, and formalization of storeroom

inventory processes and technical parts support for maintenance team.

Scope

Responsible for all inventory and personnel management and technical process improvement in functional area.

Functions

  • Analysis of business conditions and inventory levels to proactively anticipate supply needs, inventory shortages, and other future challenges
  • Proposes and implements strategies to reduce inventory levels, improve procedures, and costs
  •  Oversees team of warehouse employees and receiving clerk(s) and their schedules.
  • Manages AS400 inventory tracking system for deliveries, stock levels, item replenishment, obsolescence and new item creation.
  • Conducts frequent inventory analysis to improve inventory control, optimize inventory turns, etc.
  • Develops internal and external customer business relationships
  • Reports on equipment and item issues, inventory levels, stock outs, and on-hand inventory accuracy.
  • Send out and track repair items.
  • Manage and keep records of tool allowance.

Requirements

  • BS in Engineering, Materials Management, Logistics, or related field
  • Strong, demonstrable experience in data analysis require
  • Demonstrated success in organizational and materials management improvements
  • Five (5) years’ experience in manufacturing required.
  • AS400 inventory management systems experience preferred
  • Technical background in mechanical, electrical, and/or hydraulic maintenance preferred
  • Six Sigma certification preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills, interpersonal ability, and team oriented
