Apart from the company-facilitated sports activities which have been held for decades, we have also been involved in mass sporting events for a long time. We follow the principle of sponsoring a number of projects in selected clubs, which are limited but long-term and well thought-out. We therefore give them, for instance, a financial basis for several years which enables them to plan and organise events better. We give special attention to projects from and for youngsters, above all those in the south of Hamburg, in the immediate vicinity of the Aurubis works premises.

Since 2003 the Group supports the ladies volleyball team of TV Fischbek and has even become their main sponsor since 2006. The successful German league team has been called NA.Hamburg since 2007/08. Since Norddeutsche Affinerie AG was renamed as Aurubis, the team has been playing under the name VT Aurubis Hamburg.

The handball teams of SG Wilhelmsburg have also been supported by Aurubis as their main sponsor since 1999. The emphasis here is especially on the youth work in the club.
