Prof. Dr.-Ing. E. h. Wolfgang Leese appointed to the Supervisory Board of Aurubis AG
Hamburg, 1 October 2009 – With effect from today, the Hamburg District Court appointed Prof. Dr.-Ing. E. h. Wolfgang Leese, Chief Executive Officer of Salzgitter AG, as one of the shareholders’ representatives on the Supervisory Board of Aurubis AG. Thomas Leysen, Chairman of the Board of Directors at Umicore SA/NV, Brussels, had resigned from the Supervisory Board with effect from 30 September 2009.
Prof. Dr.-Ing. E. h. Wolfgang Leese has been CEO of the Lower Saxony steel group since 2000.
His appointment to the Supervisory Board of Aurubis initially is effective until Aurubis’ next Annual General Meeting on 3 March 2010. It must then be confirmed by the Annual General Meeting until 2012. The other Supervisory Board members have already been elected until 2012.
Aurubis’ Supervisory Board must be made up of representatives of the employees and the shareholders in equal measure, at the present time six of each.
