Copper concentrates primarily consisting of 30% each of copper, sulfur and iron are Aurubis' most important raw material. The double absorption contact acid plants in Hamburg and Pirdop which are continuously operated by our highly qualified engineers ensure that more than 99.8% of the sulfur feed is processed into sulfuric acid.

Due to this high degree of state-of-the-art cleaning, we effectively avoid sulfur dioxide emissions, thus actively protecting the environment.

Our Environmental Management System complies with international standards and is certified in accordance with ISO 14001 and EMAS.

Our annual production output of more than 2 million t makes us one of the most important sulfuric acid suppliers in the world.
