Raw materials become products
Some 60% of copper production at Aurubis is based on copper concentrates (primary raw materials) supplied by the mines. Mining concentrates are composed of copper, iron and sulphur in equal parts. 40 % of the copper production is based on recycling materials, such as copper refining and copper alloy scrap, copper containing residues from foundries and semifabricators, various kinds of shredder materials as well galvanic slimes, slags, ashes and filter dusts.
