Environmental protection in the Aurubis Group

Aurubis has 16 production sites in eleven European countries and the USA and an extensive service and sales system for copper products in Europe, Asia and North America. Common environmental protection standards are developed and implemented at all sites in the Aurubis Group. The sites regularly report on compliance with environmental protection targets, implemented environmental protection measures and key factors.

Aurubis has an environmental management system at the individual sites which is largely certified in accordance with ISO 14001 and, in Hamburg, Lünen and Schwermetall Halbzeugwerk, also in accordance with EMAS. In addition, the Group’s common key environmental protection factors are certified. The annual TÜV examination is a good opportunity for Aurubis to have the effective implementation of environmental protection and the resulting successes inspected and verified by an external third party.

Aurubis has taken on the long-term task of harmonising environmental achievements across the sites, especially with regard to the Group’s growth due to the acquisition of the former Luvata Rolled Products division in 2011.
