Norddeutsche Affinerie wins Capital magazine’s Investor Relations Prize for the third time

Hamburg, 7 July 2005 – Norddeutsche Affinerie AG (NA) has been awarded Capital magazine’s Investor Relations Prize for the third time. After the years 2000 and 2001, NA has again come first in the Investor Relations competition for the MDAX run by the business magazine Capital and the German Society of Investment Analysis and Asset Management (DVFA).

“NA’s Executive Board and IR team are delighted about this,” said CEO Werner Marnette. With 459.8 out of a possible 500 points, NA achieved the best result in the MDAX category and the second best overall result of all the companies competing.

After coming first in 2000 (SDAX) and 2001 (MDAX), this latest success confirms how important it is to maintain a continuous, intensive and open dialogue with all capital market participants. NA attaches great importance to efficient and transparent communications and will also continue its future investor relations activities in this spirit.

Together with DVFA, Capital magazine examines and evaluates the quality of the capital market communications of the main German and European public companies. The assessment is based on the criteria: timeliness, credibility, quality and corporate governance.

This year 550 analysts and funds managers from 294 European banks, investment companies and fund management companies took part in the assessment.

The prize has been awarded since 1997 in different categories. In 2005 there were 197 companies competing in the five categories: Eurostoxx 50, DAX, MDAX, TECDAX and SDAX.

Our thanks go to Capital magazine and the members of DVFA who took part in the survey.
