Metal recycling
This sector covers the procurement of copper scrap and copper alloy scrap as well as copper-bearing residues. Copper scrap is processed in the anode furnace in Lünen, alloy scrap and residues in the KRS. Our procurement activities are conducted in accordance with internationally valid classifications and specifications. The majority of our business partners are metal trading companies, where the scrap is collected and processed into a form suitable for a smelter, as well as from the processing industry in which residues arise during production processes.

Electronic scrap recycling
The recycling of electronic equipment creates a high demand due to the complex structure of appliances and material compositions. We offer allround solutions for manufacturers and importers of electric and electronic equipment waste as well as for specialised recycling enterprises. We extract copper and precious metals from the delivered electric and electronic scrap using environmentally friendly processes. Our business relations include not only strategic partnerships with total contract packages but also individual agreements for precious metal-bearing raw materials.

Industrial services/metal by-products
Special industrial residues and wastes arising during production processes, which had to be disposed of up to now, can be recycled in the modern processing plants of the Aurubis Group in environmentally friendly processes. We extract metals from the feed materials or use them as auxiliary materials in metal production. Our industrial services sector works as a recycling service provider for the automotive industry’s suppliers, the chemical industry and the disposal industry. At the same time, this sector markets worldwide the by-products arising in the smelting process.
